Job description

You excel at connecting the dots as a problem solver, ensuring the seamless delivery of reliable services from beginning to end.

You have the opportunity to gain a wealth of expertise and a diverse range of skills, providing insight and knowledge without losing sight of your work-life balance or wellbeing.

In this role, you'll:

Join our Planning, Integration and Passenger division in Network Planning for Metropolitan Sydney public transport. You will build and optimise integrated, efficient network solutions across bus, ferry and light rail services. You will support service outcomes in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment balancing evolving customer demand with operational considerations and broader policy objectives.

The position harnesses scheduling and planning systems to optimise networks, maximise resource efficiency, and improve integrated customer outcomes. You will use enterprise scheduling tools such as HASTUS, transit planning programs like Remix and other geospatial systems as required.

You will assess service patterns, operating requirements, demand trends and network performance to develop practical and evidence-based service planning solutions, collaborating with operators, infrastructure partners and internal stakeholders to translate strategic priorities into deliverable service concepts.

This is a permanent full-time position based at the Milsons Point office, with the flexibility to work from other Transport for NSW offices and from home for up to 50% of working time.

About you

Your analytical, scheduling and stakeholder collaboration skills, formed across transport planning, scheduling, infrastructure, logistics or data-driven operational environments, will see you excel in developing and validating service plans, overcoming network constraints and bringing structured, data-led approaches to deliver reliable and customer-focused service outcomes.

You may come from a passenger transport operator, government agency, transport consultancy or similar environment, with experience in bus, ferry, light/heavy rail or integrated transport networks.

You're recognised as a collaborative problem solver, skilled at translating data and operational requirements into effective timetable and service solutions, experienced in working across complex, matrixed environments with multiple stakeholders, using planning tools, data analysis and strong communication skills.

You can confidently communicate complex scheduling risks to senior stakeholders and are skilled at facilitating workshops to align diverse project teams and delivery groups.

You are comfortable working across different types of initiatives and bringing together multiple schedules, priorities, and dependencies into a clear integrated view.

To succeed in this role, you will also need demonstrated experience in project and stakeholder management as well as relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience.
