Job summary

Jayco Melbourne in Hallam is seeking a hands-on Service and Pre-Delivery Manager to lead our workshop and ensure every caravan is prepared to the highest standard. You will own department performance, coach a capable team and partner with Sales, Parts and Admin to deliver outstanding customer outcomes.

You will drive KPI targets, warranty quality and on-time delivery while maintaining a safe, collaborative culture across HFH Auto Group. RV/car industry leadership is highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Service Manager, Workshop Manager or Pre-Delivery Manager in automotive/RV dealerships.
• Track record of hitting financial targets and KPIs.
• Excellent communication and customer relations skills, including handling complaints calmly.

The opportunity

Roles like this don’t come up often. Reporting to the General Manager, you’ll lead the Service and Pre-Delivery operations at Jayco Melbourne. You’ll own the department’s results and make sure every customer gets a great experience, from the day their new van is prepared for handover to every service after that.

It’s a hands-on leadership role for someone who loves building strong teams, running a tight workshop and driving results.

What you’ll be doing

Leading the Service department

Leading, coaching and developing your team to deliver great results and a positive team culture

Setting and tracking department sales, gross profit and KPI targets, and reporting progress to the General Manager

Building department plans, and finding ways to grow profitability

Looking after customers personally, including resolving complaints quickly and fairly

Checking quality across all workshop operations and managing warranty, including defective parts control

Building strong relationships with Jayco, suppliers and the Sales, Parts, Finance and Admin teams

Running Pre-Delivery

Scheduling and assigning daily pre-delivery work so every van is ready on time and to a high standard

Working closely with Sales Managers and the Delivery Coordinator so delivery dates are met, with clear updates when anything changes

Making sure roadworthy processes, PD sheets and compliance paperwork meet legal, manufacturer and dealership standards

Managing external suppliers and sublet work so timelines and quality are met

Managing stock arrival and preparation times so vans aren’t held on site longer than needed

Monitoring team productivity and efficiency, and approving timesheets, overtime and leave

What you’ll bring

Proven experience as a Service Manager, Workshop Manager or Pre-Delivery Manager in an automotive, RV or caravan dealership

Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to coach, manage performance and bring a team together

A track record of hitting financial targets and KPIs

Excellent communication and customer relations skills, including handling complaints and difficult conversations calmly

Strong organisation and time management in a busy workshop

Good knowledge of service department best practice, workshop systems and warranty processes

Solid literacy, numeracy and Microsoft Office skills

Integrity, initiative and a genuine commitment to safety

Caravan or RV industry or car industry experience is highly regarded
