Job summary

The Youth Justice Advanced Case Manager role based in Ballarat is a senior position within the Youth Justice service of the Department of Justice and Community Safety. It focuses on statutory supervision and coordination of services for young people under court orders, with emphasis on high-risk, complex needs in the community.

You will lead day-to-day supervision, develop and review client service plans, liaise with courts, mental health services and other stakeholders, and prepare reports,

Qualifications

• Understanding of the youth justice system, including the Victorian program.
• Understanding of the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 and policies for youth justice workers.
• Knowledge of Children's Court practices or ability to obtain.
• Advanced case management of people with complex needs requiring high supervision in the community.
• Demonstrates perseverance and adaptability in challenging situations.
• Driver's licence and Working with Children Check are mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day statutory supervision and case management of young people with complex needs
• Provide holistic support to increase opportunities for improved quality of life and community inclusion
• Implement and review client service plans, programs and services
• Liaise with courts, policy, mental health services and other stakeholders
• Prepare reports, briefs and correspondence, and maintain prescribed registers
• Implement strategies addressing offending behaviour and compliance with statutory orders
