Job summary

Needus is seeking an experienced XDR/EDR Engineer for a contract role to support enterprise security operations in Australia. The candidate will work hands-on to monitor and respond to endpoint security alerts, configure and optimise EDR/XDR platforms, and lead threat detection and incident response efforts within a SOC environment.

The role emphasizes detecting threats through endpoint telemetry, tuning rules, and collaboration with security teams.

Qualifications

• Hands-on with leading EDR/XDR platforms.
• Experience in SOC environments and incident response.
• Strong understanding of endpoint threat detection and response.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, investigate and respond to security alerts and incidents across endpoint environments.
• Manage, configure and optimise EDR/XDR security platforms.
• Conduct threat detection, investigation, triage and incident response activities.
• Analyse endpoint telemetry to identify suspicious activity and potential breaches.
• Develop and tune detection rules, policies and alerts to improve security.
• Support threat hunting, containment and remediation activities.
• Collaborate with SOC analysts and incident response teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve detection coverage and reduce false positives.
