Job summary

CyberCX is seeking a Senior Security Analyst to join our Managed Security Services team in Australia. You will support security monitoring, investigations, threat hunting and security outcomes for enterprise customers.

You’ll work hands-on, provide guidance to junior analysts, and help improve detections and security visibility across diverse environments. This role requires independent decision‑making and strong customer communication.

Qualifications

• Hands-on security operations in MSSP/MDR environments.
• Experience leading or independently handling security investigations.
• Proficiency with SIEM platforms such as Sentinel or Splunk.
• Experience with EDR/XDR platforms like Defender, CrowdStrike or Cortex XDR.
• Strong understanding of cloud security environments, especially Azure.
• Threat hunting experience and developing detection logic.
• Solid incident response and escalation capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and perform security investigations across enterprise customer environments.
• Analyse security events using SIEM platforms such as Microsoft Sentinel and Splunk.
• Investigate suspicious activity across identity, cloud, endpoint and network telemetry.
• Support incident response activities including investigation, scoping, containment and customer communication.
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex incidents and investigations.
• Tune detections to reduce false positives and improve detection quality.
• Develop new customer-specific detections and security use cases.
