Northern Health in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north is seeking a Senior Workplace Relations Specialist. You will own complex employee and industrial relations matters, guiding strategy, investigations and outcomes with executives, unions, and legal teams.

The role emphasizes governance, risk, and practical, defensible decisions across multiple campuses. You will lead investigations, advise leaders on risk, and design pathways for challenging workforce issues while coaching others to

Qualifications

• Substantial senior-level expertise in employee or industrial relations and employment law.
• Advanced knowledge of industrial instruments, legislation, and workplace investigations.
• Ability to navigate complex matters with procedural fairness and governance.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex employee and industrial relations matters from initiation to resolution.
• Manage workplace investigations, findings, and outcome communications.
• Advise leaders on employment, industrial, legal, operational and reputational risk.
• Develop practical pathways and implementation plans for workforce issues.
• Manage union engagement, disputes, grievances and consultations.
• Support Fair Work Commission matters and external proceedings.
• Prepare briefs, recommendations, submissions and executive correspondence.
• Coach leaders and build organisational capability in workplace relations.
