Job summary

HCF is seeking a Senior Workday Specialist to own and optimise our Workday platform, partnering with HR, Payroll, Technology and Cyber Security to deliver secure, scalable people systems.

You will lead design and delivery of complex enhancements, manage security access, and evaluate new Workday features, shaping our roadmap in a complex enterprise environment.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience configuring Workday Core HCM and Security.
  • Experience delivering complex end-to-end Workday changes.
  • Strong governance, privacy and audit knowledge.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience working with external vendors or MSPs.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the configuration and optimisation of Workday HCM and Security.
  • Manage security roles, access controls and reviews.
  • Assess Workday releases and propose value-driven enhancements.
  • Develop and maintain the Workday roadmap aligned to business goals.

We're looking for a highly experienced Senior Workday Specialist to take functional ownership of our Workday platform and help shape the future of our people systems.This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in a complex and evolving environment, partnering with HR, Payroll, Technology, Cyber Security and business leaders to ensure Workday delivers secure, scalable and high-performing solutions that support our people strategy.As the Senior Workday Specialist, you will provide functional leadership across Workday HCM and Security, driving continuous improvement, governance, platform optimisation and operational excellence.You'll lead the design and delivery of complex enhancements, oversee security and access management, evaluate new Workday releases and capabilities, and provide trusted advice to senior stakeholders. Working across multiple teams, you'll ensure our people systems remain compliant, efficient and aligned to HCF's strategic objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the functional administration, configuration and optimisation of Workday HCM and Security.Drive the discovery, analysis, design, testing and deployment of complex system enhancements and process improvements.Configure and maintain business processes, workflows, security roles, calculated fields, validations and notifications.Manage platform security, user access, segregation of duties and periodic access reviews.Ensure compliance with governance frameworks, privacy requirements, audit obligations and regulatory standards.Assess Workday releases and emerging capabilities, recommending enhancements based on business value and risk.Develop and maintain the Workday roadmap, aligning technology priorities with workforce and organisational objectives.Partner with senior stakeholders across People & Culture, Payroll, Risk, Cyber Security and Technology.Prepare decision papers, risk assessments and governance reporting for leadership forums.Coordinate external vendors and managed service providers to ensure high-quality delivery and knowledge transfer.Maintain system documentation and support capability uplift through coaching and knowledge sharing.About YouTo be successful, you'll bring:Significant experience supporting and configuring Workday, particularly Core HCM and Security.Deep understanding of Workday business processes, security architecture and configuration best practices.Proven experience delivering complex end-to-end system changes, from requirements gathering through to implementation and support.Strong knowledge of access controls, governance, risk management, privacy requirements and audit processes.Experience assessing Workday releases and translating new functionality into business outcomes.Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with experience preparing recommendations and business cases.Experience working with external vendors, managed service providers and specialist consultants.A collaborative leadership style with experience coaching and mentoring others.Change management experience will be highly regarded.About HCFAt HCF, our purpose is to bring our human touch to healthcare.
