Job summary

The Hospitals Contribution Fund Of Australia Limited is seeking a Senior Workday Specialist to own and optimise the Workday platform across HCM and Security, shaping governance, enhancements and operational excellence in a complex, evolving environment.

You will collaborate with HR, Payroll, Technology and Cyber Security, lead end-to-end changes, manage access controls, evaluate new Workday releases and deliver secure, scalable solutions aligned to our people strategy.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience supporting and configuring Workday, particularly Core HCM and Security.
  • Deep understanding of Workday business processes, security architecture and configuration best practices.
  • Proven experience delivering complex end-to-end system changes, from requirements gathering through to implementation and support.
  • Strong knowledge of access controls, governance, risk management, privacy requirements and audit processes.
  • Experience assessing Workday releases and translating new functionality into business outcomes.
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with experience preparing recommendations and business cases.
  • Experience working with external vendors, managed service providers and specialist consultants.
  • A collaborative leadership style with experience coaching and mentoring others.
  • Change management experience will be highly regarded.

  • Configure and maintain business processes, workflows, security roles, calculated fields, validations and notifications.
  • Manage platform security, user access, segregation of duties and periodic access reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with governance frameworks, privacy requirements, audit obligations and regulatory standards.
  • Assess Workday releases and emerging capabilities, recommending enhancements based on business value and risk.
  • Develop and maintain the Workday roadmap, aligning technology priorities with workforce and organisational objectives.
  • Partner with senior stakeholders across People & Culture, Payroll, Risk, Cyber Security and Technology.
  • Prepare decision papers, risk assessments and governance reporting for leadership forums.
  • Coordinate external vendors and managed service providers to ensure high-quality delivery and knowledge transfer.
  • Maintain system documentation and support capability uplift through coaching and knowledge sharing.

Job description

We're looking for a highly experienced Senior Workday Specialist to take functional ownership of our Workday platform and help shape the future of our people systems. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in a complex and evolving environment, partnering with HR, Payroll, Technology, Cyber Security and business leaders to ensure Workday delivers secure, scalable and high-performing solutions that support our people strategy. As the Senior Workday Specialist, you will provide functional leadership across Workday HCM and Security, driving continuous improvement, governance, platform optimisation and operational excellence. You'll lead the design and delivery of complex enhancements, oversee security and access management, evaluate new Workday releases and capabilities, and provide trusted advice to senior stakeholders. Working across multiple teams, you'll ensure our people systems remain compliant, efficient and aligned to HCF's strategic objectives.
