Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of mechanical design experience in electromechanical products.
• Experience with 3D CAD in NX or SolidWorks.
• Experience owning mechanical design from concept to deployment.
• Hardware integrating cameras/sensors into compact form factors.
• Experience with tolerance stack-up and alignment-critical assemblies.
• Experience defining mechanical test plans and data analysis.
• Fabrication exposure: CNC, injection molding, sheet metal, additive manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical architecture and design for data collection headsets and wearable prototypes.
• Design head-worn and body-worn hardware with sensors, illumination, and data aggregation.
• Collaborate with electrical, firmware, systems engineering, program management, and production teams.
• Translate research roadmaps into mechanical system requirements and documented specs.
• Communicate trade-offs across performance, cost, manufacturability, wearability, schedule, and risk.
• Design for repeatability of sensor location across participants.
• Advance concepts from prototypes to field-deployed devices across sites.
• Iterate quickly with build-measure-revise cycles to resolve technical questions.
• Support fabrication and tooling design, assembly procedures, and fixtures.
• Create test/calibration fixtures and data capture hardware.
