Job summary

Meta is seeking a Software Engineer for Wearables Interfaces Engineering to design and own platform-level software bridging Core OS capabilities with wearable device applications. You will drive multi-component architectural decisions, optimize for performance, power, and reliability, and lead initiatives spanning OS, frameworks, and applications.

The role requires deep systems thinking across firmware, OS interfaces, and middleware.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree as stated or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of systems engineering, platform software, or embedded development.
• Experience leading platform integration across OS, frameworks and applications with org-level impact.
• Expert-level understanding of platform architecture including OS/frameworks/application interactions.
• Proficiency in C/C++ and/or Java/Kotlin with debugging across stack.
• Experience with system-level debugging tools and methodologies.
• Track record of solving highly complex technical problems across systems/teams.
• Experience shipping consumer electronics or embedded devices at scale.
• Understanding of power management and performance optimization at platform level.

Responsibilities

• Drive platform software architecture for wearable devices, ensuring coherent integration across Core OS interfaces, frameworks, middleware, and application layers.
• Lead system-level initiatives spanning OS-to-application boundaries for performance, reliability, and power efficiency.
• Own resolution of complex problems across OS interfaces, drivers, and apps; drive fixes across teams.
• Analyze and optimize platform-level performance including latency and memory usage across full stack.
• Partner with Core OS to define platform requirements and influence OS roadmaps.
• Establish metrics and reliability frameworks to maintain system health across wearables.
• Collaborate with Core OS, hardware, firmware, connectivity, multimedia, and product teams to align technical strategies.
• Communicate platform decisions and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders; drive alignment.
• Leverage AI tools to accelerate development and scale impact across the org.
