Job summary

Arup Australia is seeking a Civil Engineer with strong water and wastewater modelling expertise to lead hydraulic network projects across Queensland. The role involves delivering modelling tasks, developing and validating models, and translating results into practical design guidance.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, engage with clients, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to quality assurance and project success in a collaborative, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Recognised tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or closely related degree.
• 5+ years professional experience in water or wastewater networks.
• Current RPEQ in Civil Engineering is highly regarded.
• Experience with water and wastewater network modelling.
• Experience in Queensland utility environments and SEQ Code.

Responsibilities

• Lead or independently deliver defined modelling tasks with minor oversight.
• Develop, calibrate and verify hydraulic models.
• Assess network capacity, servicing and staging decisions.
• Ensure technical quality and review modelling outputs.
• Coordinate inputs with multidisciplinary teams.
• Prepare technical reports and client-ready presentations.
• Support project managers with scope, programme and resources.
• Engage with clients in technical meetings and workshops.
• Mentor junior engineers and modellers.
• Apply RPEQ obligations and Arup QA processes.
• Contribute to a positive QLD Water team culture.
