Job summary

SRG Utilities in Sydney’s Greater Parramatta region seeks a Senior Project Engineer to drive delivery of a major water infrastructure project. You’ll coordinate civil, utilities and construction activities, lead safety and environmental compliance, and manage procurement, planning and stakeholder engagement.

You will own key project packages, oversee subcontractors, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery with high-quality documentation and risk management throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years as a Senior Project Engineer in civil/utilities/water infrastructure.
• Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
• Strong safety leadership capability.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent conflict resolution, leadership and relationship skills.
• Adaptability to changing structure, process, information, and technology.
• Experience in estimation costing and working to a budget.
• Understanding of construction principles in a multi-disciplinary contracting environment.
• Ability to read budgets and interpret variance reports.

Responsibilities

• Deliver project works to scope, budget, and program with proper construction methods.
• Identify and manage risks, opportunities, variations and claims.
• Manage subcontractor performance, claims and contractual requirements.
• Monitor project costs, budgets and margins and take corrective actions.
• Coordinate procurement, labour, plant and resources for delivery.
• Manage technical, quality and project documentation (ITPs, inspections, handover).
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors and teams to resolve issues.
• Promote safety culture and ensure compliance with safety requirements.
• Support environmental management and ensure environmental compliance.
• Ensure teams comply with management plans, policies and procedures.
