Job summary

GHD is seeking Senior Water Engineers (Civil and Mechanical) in Adelaide to deliver resilient water and wastewater solutions across South Australia. You will lead design, feasibility studies, and construction support while mentoring teams and coordinating with geotechnical and construction disciplines.

Hybrid work options apply. The role requires a Civil or Mechanical engineering degree with 5+ years in water projects, plus Engineers Australia chartership eligibility desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering in Civil or Mechanical; 5+ years in water infrastructure design, construction, or management.
• Eligibility for Engineers Australia membership; Chartership desirable.
• Experience with design or project management in engineering consulting or government settings.
• Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment systems, water distribution and sewer networks.
• Strong commercial, risk management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical and project leadership across feasibility studies, detailed design, and construction support.
• Lead design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, pipelines, and storage systems.
• Support integrated water management, climate resilience, and circular economy initiatives.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to proposals, reports, and technical assessments.
• Provide leadership and mentoring within the team, coordinating with related disciplines.
