Job summary

GPA Engineering is seeking a Senior/Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in water and wastewater projects. You will provide mechanical leadership across industrial portfolios, focusing on pumps, pump stations, pipelines and piping systems.

This role offers potential long-term growth, including team leadership and client management opportunities within a collaborative, safety-focused consulting environment in Australia.

Qualifications

• Australian recognised Mechanical Engineering degree and CPEng are essential.
• +4 years of relevant experience in water and wastewater is preferred.
• Experience delivering water and wastewater projects is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support hydraulic system design for in-line components across concept to construction.
• Lead and review deliverables: datasheets, specifications, scopes of work, design reports, calculations and drawings.
• Provide technical leadership on pump selection and system design (duty/standby, hydraulics, NPSH, controls).
• Coordinate interfaces with process, civil/structural, electrical/ EI&C and drafting.
• Drive Safety in Design, constructability and brownfield integration.
• Mentor and uplift capability across the team and support junior engineers.
• Familiar with client requirements and Australian Standards.
• Assist with project estimating and leading proposals.
