Job summary

REA Group is seeking a Senior UX Researcher for its Financial Services portfolio, based in Melbourne or Sydney. You will lead qualitative and mixed-methods studies that inform product strategy and design decisions.

You will coach teams, partner with Product and Design to shape roadmaps, and drive evidence-informed choices across Mortgage Choice, Campaign Agent and PropTrack Mortgage Solutions, contributing to a culture of curiosity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience leading UX research across complex digital products.
• Deep expertise in qualitative research; applies quantitative or mixed-methods when suitable.
• Excellent stakeholder management with diverse stakeholders.
• Collaborative leader who coaches others and raises evidence quality.
• Strategic thinker who connects insights across products to influence direction.
• Growth mindset with resilience to drive change at scale.
• Strong point of view on great research; challenges assumptions.
• Experience in regulated environments is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Identify impactful research opportunities by understanding users, business context and competition.
• Partner with Product and Design to shape roadmaps and ensure research informs early decisions.
• Translate evidence into strategic recommendations influencing prioritization and investment.
• Apply systems thinking to connect insights across products and journeys.
• Coach designers and researchers in planning, facilitation, synthesis and communication.
• Champion research best practices and method selection.
• Lead complex studies while enabling teams to research across the lifecycle.
• Combine qualitative mastery with quantitative approaches for richer insights.
• Design and facilitate sessions, workshops, stakeholder interviews.
• Synthesize findings into actionable opportunities for product decisions.
• Contribute to shared research infrastructure and recruitment processes.
• Stay connected to emerging methods and AI-assisted techniques.
• Foster curiosity and evidence-informed decision making in Financial Services.
• Share learnings to evolve standards and promote evidence-driven culture.
