Job summary

MetLife Australia is seeking an experienced underwriter to assess new business, alterations and other transactions within delegated authority. The role includes mentoring underwriters, developing guidelines for automated underwriting, and collaborating with legal, compliance and product teams to ensure profitable risks and adherence to standards.

Responsibilities

• Analyse personal, financial and medical data to assess applications by underwriting.
• Underwrite all product lines within authority, standards and targets.
• Develop and monitor underwriting rules for the automated underwriting engine.
• Provide technical guidance and coaching to team members.
• Build relationships with advisers, reinsurers, and service providers.
• Work with Legal and Compliance within regulatory frameworks.
• Mentor underwriters and contribute to staff training.
