Job summary

2XM Recruit is recruiting for a Senior Mining Engineer to join a leading underground gold operation in Western Australia. The role spans production engineering and mine planning, focusing on safe, efficient delivery of the underground plan.

You will develop short- to medium-term plans, support production teams, mentor junior engineers, and work with geology, survey and ventilation. A tertiary Mining Engineering degree and strong planning skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering.
• Underground hard-rock mining experience.
• Experience in underground gold or hard-rock mining.
• Strong mine planning, design and scheduling capability.
• Experience with Deswik, Surpac, Vulcan or similar.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage short to medium-term underground mine plans and schedules.
• Provide technical engineering support to underground production teams.
• Undertake stope design, development design and production scheduling.
• Monitor mine performance against plans, budgets and production targets.
• Identify opportunities to improve productivity, recovery and operational efficiency.
• Provide input into drill and blast design and production activities.
• Complete mine design, sequencing and optimisation work.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and life-of-mine planning activities.
• Work closely with geology, survey, ventilation and operational teams.
• Analyse production data and provide practical recommendations to site leadership.
• Mentor and support junior Mining Engineers.
• Ensure all engineering activities meet statutory, safety and company requirements.
