Job summary

Only Sponsorships in Western Australia is seeking a Senior Underground Mining Engineer to lead the underground gold operation, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of the mine plan. The role offers a clear progression path into Underground Management and requires a WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate and extensive senior underground mining experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or equivalent.
• Current WA First Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency is essential.
• Extensive underground hard rock mining experience in a senior engineering or technical leadership role.
• Strong proficiency with mine planning software such as Deswik, MineSched, Vulcan or similar.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimise short-, medium- and long-term underground mine plans.
• Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly production schedules.
• Monitor mining performance and identify opportunities to improve productivity, safety and cost efficiency.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to the mine engineering team.
• Collaborate with Mining, Geology and Operations to ensure effective plan execution.
• Support drill and blast, ventilation, ground support and production planning activities.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting and Life of Mine planning.
• Ensure compliance with Work Health and Safety Act and Mines Regulations.
• Provide operational leadership and act as delegate for Alternate Underground Manager when required.
