Job summary

Liontown Limited is seeking an Underground Senior Mine Planning Engineer for the Kathleen Valley lithium operation. This site-based permanent role is on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth, coordinating planning, design and scheduling of underground mining activities.

You will collaborate with geologists, mining engineers, ventilation and geotechnical teams to optimise mine plans, schedules, and underground infrastructure while maintaining safety, efficiency and ore recovery targets.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in underground mining engineering focused on planning and design.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mining/Geotechnical Engineering or related field.
In-depth knowledge of mine engineering principles and best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
National Police Clearance within 6 months or eligibility to obtain one; pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screen.

Responsibilities

Develop and optimise underground mine plans using geological, geotechnical and safety data.
Utilise Deswik software to design development and stoping sequences and schedules.
Support Life of Mine and Quarterly schedules with the Principal Mining Engineer to maximise ore recovery.
Collaborate with Ventilation and Geotechnical Engineers to ensure safety and stability.
Design underground infrastructure (raises, declines, haulage) and optimise equipment layouts.
