Job summary

Chinova Resources in North-West Queensland seeks a Senior Mine Engineer to implement and manage underground surveying, ensuring compliance with Queensland legislation and high-quality deliverables to support safe, efficient mining.

You will lead survey controls, mine plans, stope modelling and production monitoring; 5–7 years in hard rock underground mining, knowledge of act and regulation, Deswik and Ventsim skills, with a C class licence.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering (or equivalent).
• 5–7 years' experience in hard rock underground mining.
• Knowledge of Qld Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999 and Regulation 2017.
• Deswik suite software and Ventsim (desirable).
• Strong safety awareness with hazard identification, risk assessment and investigations.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritise work effectively.
• Good interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
• Current Australian C class driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance to legislative requirements and internal policies.
• Provide technical advice to the underground surveying team.
• Update project designs and proposals; undertake evaluations and optimisations.
• Mine design including capital and operating designs; stope shapes.
• Production drill/blast designs and stope reconciliation; daily/weekly production monitoring.
• Ventilation management and statutory officer duties; audits and continuous improvement.
• Deliver weekly and monthly mine plans; maintain project schedules and KPIs.
