Job summary

Chinova Resources Pty Ltd in North-West Queensland seeks a Senior Mine Engineer to lead underground surveying activities, ensuring compliance with Queensland legislation and high-quality deliverables. The role supports safe, efficient mining operations with oversight of survey control networks, mine designs, and stope modelling.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering (or equivalent).
• 5–7 years’ experience in hard rock underground mining.
• Knowledge of Qld Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999 and Regulation 2017.
• Deswik and Ventsim experience (desirable).
• High safety awareness with hazard identification, risk assessment and incident investigation.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritise work.
• Good interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
• Current Australian C class driver’s licence.
• Experience with underground backfill (desirable).
• Ventilation management and statutory officer duties (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain and manage underground mine surveying activities.
• Ensure compliance with legislation and corporate policies.
• Oversee survey control networks, mine plans, void modelling and related deliverables.
• Provide technical advice and planning support to underground team.
• Develop mine designs, including capital and operating designs and stope notes.
• Support production drilling, blasting designs and stope reconciliation.
• Monitor daily and weekly production and ventilation duties; model ventilation systems.
• Participate in audits, investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain project programs and mine schedules; forecast budgets and resource needs.
