Job summary

Ipswich City Council's Transport and Traffic team seeks an Engineer/Senior Engineer (Traffic Systems) to lead the operational management of the city's intelligent transport systems, delivering safer, more efficient networks for Ipswich.

You will monitor ITS, respond to traffic signals and parking enquiries, contribute to policies and projects, and represent the council at meetings and forums. This permanent full-time role includes a salary starting at 106,570 AUD plus 12.5% superannuation.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in electrical or civil engineering, or substantial equivalent experience.
• Experience in intelligent transport systems control, management, and operating systems.
• Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) is desirable.
• Current C Class Queensland driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Actively monitor and continuously improve ITS to support safe and efficient transport outcomes across the city's road network.
• Investigate and resolve enquiries relating to traffic signals, parking management system and other ITS technologies.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of transport policies, strategies, studies, projects, and funding submissions.
• Represent council at meetings, workshops and other forums.
