Ipswich City Council is seeking a Technical Officer (Road Corridor Management) to provide specialist technical assessment and advice for the safe and efficient use of council-controlled roads in Ipswich. You will assess heavy vehicle access and road closure permits on local road reserves, ensuring compliance with legislation and standards.

Key responsibilities include evaluating heavy vehicle access applications, processing works on local government roads, responding to traffic management

Qualifications

• Certificate IV or Diploma in civil engineering, traffic engineering or equivalent qualification.
• Current C class driver's licence.
• Substantial computer and database skills to assess and process applications.
• Experience in granting heavy vehicle access in a local government environment and traffic management design.

Responsibilities

• Undertake technical assessments of heavy vehicle access applications and determine appropriate road-use consent conditions.
• Assess applications for works on local government-controlled roads and traffic control permits.
• Respond to requests related to traffic management and road safety matters.
• Conduct field investigations to audit compliance with permit requirements.
• Develop strategies that enhance traffic operations and address road use related issues.
• Liaise and consult with stakeholders to achieve suitable outcomes for traffic-related issues.
