Job summary

The City of Canada Bay Council is seeking an experienced traffic engineer to provide specialist expertise across traffic, transport, parking and road safety matters. You will lead the Drummoyne Traffic Management Initiatives and engage with stakeholders to deliver safe, connected transport outcomes for the Canada Bay community.

Ideal candidates hold a Civil or Traffic Engineering degree with capital works experience, grant-funded project exposure, and strong knowledge of Australian standards and

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Traffic Engineering with eligibility for professional membership.
• Demonstrated experience in strategic traffic and transport planning.
• Experience with capital works projects and grant-funded initiatives.
• Familiarity with Transport for NSW and Austroads guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Respond to community enquiries and deliver high-quality customer service.
• Identify process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
• Prepare grant applications for traffic and transport infrastructure projects.
• Review planning and development applications and provide engineering advice and conditions.
• Undertake traffic and transport planning assessments to support planning.
• Prepare consultancy briefs and tender documents and manage contracts.
• Administer parking schemes and support on/off-street parking management.
• Ensure infrastructure design and construction comply with standards and legislation.
