Job summary

Government client (agency undisclosed) in Sydney is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to manage the backlog of traffic-related enquiries and support Black Spot grant applications. You will contribute to road safety and traffic improvement projects while liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

The role offers a 6-month contract with flexibility for extension, flexible start/finish times, and potential work-from-home days.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant qualifications.
• Local Government experience is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• High level of attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review development proposals and assess applications for grant funding.
• Prepare reports for Traffic Committees and Local Forums.
• Investigate traffic-related matters and provide clear, practical advice to stakeholders.
• Liaise effectively with Customers, Council's and the General Manager to address enquiries and communicate key outcomes.

ABOUT THE POSITION

As a Senior Traffic Engineer, you will help manage Council’s backlog of traffic-related enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, while supporting grant applications for Black Spot funding and contributing to a range of road safety, parking, pedestrian and traffic improvement projects.
