Job summary

Sydney Council is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to help manage the backlog of traffic-related enquiries and support grant applications for Black Spot funding. You will contribute to road safety, parking, pedestrian and traffic improvement projects within a collaborative team in Sydney.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree and AutoCAD proficiency, with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant qualifications.
• Previous Local Government experience is desirable.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review development proposals and assess applications for grant funding.
• Prepare reports for Traffic Committees and Local Forums.
• Investigate traffic-related matters and provide clear, practical advice to stakeholders.
• Liaise effectively with Customers, Council and the General Manager to address enquiries and communicate key outcomes.

As a Senior Traffic Engineer, you will help manage Council’s backlog of traffic-related enquiries from internal and external stakeholders, while supporting grant applications for Black Spot funding and contributing to a range of road safety, parking, pedestrian and traffic improvement projects.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE.

• Previous experience in Local Government is highly desirable
• Proficiency in AutoCADHigh level of attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
