Job summary

NAB (National Australia Bank) is recruiting a Senior Legal Counsel on a contract basis to be embedded within Technology Legal and the ubank digital banking team, based in Sydney, NSW, Australia. Qualifications

• Admitted to practice law in Australia.
• Minimum 5 years PQE at a law firm, relevant in-house role, or combination thereof.
• Experience advising on technology legal issues, prudential standards, contract interpretation, and disputes.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiation of technology and commercial agreements, including major cloud agreements.
• Provide strategic legal advice on contract interpretation and disputes.
• Support simplification and process improvement initiatives within ubank and the legal function, including AI integration and offshore workforce matters.
• Advise on ubank's procurement, technology strategy, and implementation from a legal perspective.
• Contribute to making NAB and ubank systems and processes more agile and innovative.
