Job summary

National Australia Bank (NAB) is seeking a Legal Counsel to join the Markets Legal team in Australia. You will provide expert legal guidance on financial markets transactions and regulatory matters, supporting the NAB Markets business across geographies.

You will negotiate documentation, build strong stakeholder relationships, and contribute to a collaborative team culture in a fast-paced environment. Applicants should have 3–4+ years post admission and hold an Australian Practising Certificate.

Qualifications

• 3-4+ years post admission in private, public and/or in-house legal practice.
• Current Australian Practising Certificate is required.
• Experience advising a global financial markets business with a regulatory focus is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expertise and legal advice on financial markets transactional and regulatory matters.
• Negotiate and draft client transaction documentation.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with NAB Markets business.
• Contribute to a positive team culture within the Markets Legal team.
