Job summary

Genwest Pty Ltd in Western Australia is seeking a Senior Technician/Leading Hand for the Kwinana Beach area. The role is a hands-on position managing workshop operations and providing a primary contact for equipment maintenance to a growing team and client base.

The successful candidate will lead a varied workload across diesel generators, lighting towers, material handling and related equipment, with local field service and occasional mine-site assignments.

Qualifications

• Experience in leadership or supervisory roles.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Plan and manage daily workloads to ensure efficient workshop operations.
• Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on a range of equipment.
• Provide off-hire reports, asset updates, and accurate documentation.
• Ensure equipment is serviced, repaired, and “Ready for Rent” to the highest standard.
• Ensure all work meets manufacturer and safety standards.
• Assist with the scheduling of work, creating of job cards, ordering parts.
• Updating job notes and the saving of maintenance documentation.
• Promote a strong culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Genwest is a proudly West Australian owned and operated company providing specialised equipment hire solutions to the mining industry. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Senior Technician/Mechanical Leading Hand to support our expanding Kwinana Beach team.

About the Role

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Technician / Leading Hand Mechanic ready to make a real impact at our Kwinana Beach branch, to provide a primary contact for equipment maintenance to our team and client base.

This is a hands-on role offering plenty of variety, working across our fleet of diesel generators, lighting towers, material handling and associated equipment.

A variety of workshop maintenance, local field servicing and scheduled service runs to mine sites throughout the Northern Goldfields. Some runs may involve overnight stays, with flexible roster arrangements available.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys hands-on work, mentoring a growing team to ensure high-quality mechanical standards are achieved.

Key Responsibilities
