White Bay is partnering with a rapidly growing Australian software vendor delivering a sophisticated enterprise SaaS platform to major customers. The opportunity is for an experienced Technical Delivery Lead to take ownership of the development capability supporting customer delivery.

Internally titled Solution Technology Lead, this senior role combines technical leadership, solution architecture, people leadership, customer engagement and delivery ownership.

Qualifications

• Strong Java engineering knowledge and ability to review code and designs.
• Experience leading technical delivery across customers, projects or implementations.
• Experience in SaaS, platform or software vendor environments.
• Exposure to multiple concurrent customer projects.
• Experience influencing shared engineering resources across competing priorities.
• Comfort assessing estimates, complexity, delivery risks and commitments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery capability supporting multiple concurrent customer projects.
• Prioritise engineering capacity across competing customer requirements in collaboration with Delivery Managers.
• Review and challenge estimates, approaches, sequencing and delivery commitments.
• Translate customer requirements into practical technical designs balancing speed and platform integrity.
• Take ownership of technical decisions where priorities compete.
• Act as senior technical adviser in customer discussions on design, risk and trade-offs.
• Identify risks early and work with managers to prevent overruns.
• Provide technical leadership to the Java team and mentor engineers.
• Review code and designs, maintaining quality gates without making yourself the default developer.
• Ensure development aligns with platform architecture, security and standards.
• Collaborate with Technical Manager and other functions to resolve complex issues.
• Support effective utilisation and planning of development resources.
• Deliver technically sound solutions that meet customer and commercial outcomes.
