Job summary

IAG Defence & National Security is seeking an experienced Senior Technical Configuration Manager to support the technical configuration of a heavy armour vehicle fleet for the Australian Army. This role includes advising across legacy and new vehicles, and providing high-level guidance to engineers.

Key tasks include managing configuration control, audits, data packages, and collaboration with engineering, sustainment, logistics and operations.

Qualifications

• Current NV1 security clearance required.
• Minimum 5 years Defence-related data and configuration management experience.
• Mechanical trade background is essential.
• Familiarity with Defence Configuration Management frameworks and Land Systems policies.
• Experience with configuration data packages, audits and sustainment records.

Responsibilities

• Apply advanced technical principles to solve complex problems under supervision.
• Contribute to conferences and engagements, negotiating with engineers and officials.
• Provide high-level guidance to designers and engineers.
• Manage configuration control processes across lifecycle, including baseline and change management.
• Oversee vehicle technical data packages, configuration records and maintenance history.
• Use CM tools and stock systems to maintain asset data.
• Collaborate with engineering, sustainment, logistics and operations teams.
• Conduct configuration audits and verification for standards compliance.
• Implement continuous improvement to data accuracy and reporting.
