Job summary

Profusion is seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst to join our transformation teams in Sydney. This hands-on BA role focuses on APIs, data mapping and end-to-end system interactions across origination, servicing and broker platforms.

You will partner with business stakeholders, developers and vendors, translate complex requirements into technical specs, drive delivery and contribute to testing and production readiness in a hybrid work setup (3 days in Sydney, 2 from home).

Qualifications

• 7+ years of BA/Tech BA experience in financial services.
• Experience with APIs, integrations and data mapping.
• Ability to interpret technical docs and designs.

Salary on Offer: Up to $155,000 + Super + 5% bonus

About the job:

Our client is a leading non-bank lending organisation who is looking for a Senior Technical Business Analyst to join the team and work across a mix of transformation projects, new product initiatives and continuous improvement.

This is a highly technical, hands-on BA role, with a strong focus on APIs, integrations, data mapping and end-to-end system interactions. You'll work closely with business stakeholders, developers, technology teams and third-party vendors to translate business needs into clear technical requirements and deliver practical solutions.

What you’ll do:

• Lead technical analysis across a range of technology and digital transformation initiatives.
• Analyse and document APIs, integrations, interfaces and system-to-system interactions.
• Create data mapping documentation and analyse end-to-end data flows.
• Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications.
• Analyse system workflows and design end-to-end technical and business processes.
• Work closely with developers, architects and vendors to clarify requirements and resolve technical issues.
• Partner with business stakeholders to challenge assumptions, identify opportunities and drive outcomes.
• Take ownership of requirements and independently drive initiatives through to delivery.
• Support testing, issue resolution and production readiness.
• Work across lending technology, including origination, servicing and broker platforms.

What we’re looking for:

• 7+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst / Technical Business Analyst.
• 3-5+ years’ experience in banking or financial services, with end-to-end lending lifecycle experience across loan origination, servicing and broker platforms is essential
• Strong hands-on experience with APIs, integrations, data mapping and technical system flows.
• Ability to confidently interpret technical documentation, including Swagger/OpenAPI, integration specifications and solution designs.
• Strong understanding of the SDLC and Agile delivery.
• Proven experience working with developers, technology teams and third-party vendors.
• Excellent stakeholder communication skills, with the confidence to challenge and push back when required.
• A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and take ownership.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
