Job summary

Qualifications

• Five+ years of BA experience in complex systems, data or transformation programs.
• Three+ years BA experience supporting investments, investment operations or investment risk.
• Experience with at least one investment platform (e.g., Matrix/Rimes, FactSet, SimCorp, Aladdin, Charles River, Hiport or similar).
• Understanding of investment data types (holdings, transactions, pricing, benchmarks, performance, exposures or custody feeds).
• Strong experience documenting requirements, mapping processes and data, and defining integration or reconciliation requirements.
• Confidence working with investment specialists, technical teams and vendors.
• Disciplined approach to scope, change control, testing and delivery.

Senior Business Analyst – Investment Data & Systems

Sydney | 50% WFH | $1,200 per day inclusive – negotiable

Join an established superannuation fund undertaking a sizeable program to review and simplify its investment systems, data and integrations.

This opportunity suits an experienced Business Analyst who understands investment operations and can translate complex investment data requirements into clear, practical solutions. Fixed-term or day-rate arrangements are being considered, with a potentially two-year fixed-term engagement.

The opportunity

The program will assess the current investment ecosystem, identify duplication and integration issues, and define a simpler future environment that supports reliable reporting across the whole investment portfolio.

The existing environment includes Matrix/Rimes, FactSet and State Street, alongside an enterprise data platform using Databricks and Power BI.

Reporting to the Head of Technology Transformation and working closely with the Project Manager, you’ll collaborate with Investments, Investment Operations, Risk, Finance, technology teams and external specialists.

What you’ll do

• Lead workshops and interviews to capture business, functional, non-functional and data requirements.

What you’ll bring

• At least five years’ Business Analyst experience across complex systems, data or transformation programs.
• At least three years’ BA experience supporting investments, investment operations or investment risk.
• Practical experience with at least one investment platform, such as Matrix/Rimes, FactSet, SimCorp, Aladdin, Charles River, Hiport or a comparable system.
• An understanding of investment data such as holdings, transactions, pricing, benchmarks, performance, exposures or custody feeds.
• Strong experience documenting requirements, mapping processes and data, and defining integration or reconciliation requirements.
• Confidence working with investment specialists, technical teams and vendors.
• A disciplined approach to scope, change control, testing and delivery.

Direct experience with Matrix/Rimes, FactSet or State Street custody integrations will be highly regarded. Exposure to Databricks, Power BI and investment reporting would also be valuable.
