Job summary

Profusion Group in Sydney is seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst to drive API‑centric tech transformations and data mapping with a hands‑on approach. You will collaborate with stakeholders, developers and vendors to translate business needs into detailed technical requirements and ensure end‑to‑end system interoperability.

The role focuses on the lending lifecycle, API integrations, and documentation within a hybrid work environment based in Sydney.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst, including at least 5 years in financial services.
• Hands‑on lending or mortgage experience, with understanding of origination, servicing and broker platforms.
• Strong experience analysing APIs, integrations, interfaces and end‑to‑end system flows.
• Proven ability to produce technical documentation, including specs, data mappings and sequence diagrams.
• Confidence interpreting Swagger/OpenAPI specs and integration guides.
• Strong SDLC knowledge and Agile experience.
• Familiarity with NextGen, ApplyOnline, Simpology or similar platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead business and technical analysis across digital transformation initiatives.
• Analyse and document APIs, integrations, interfaces and end‑to‑end system interactions.
• Create data mapping docs, sequence diagrams and detailed specs.
• Map current and future state processes to identify improvement opportunities.
• Elicit, analyse and negotiate requirements across stakeholders and vendors.
• Translate requirements into practical, testable solutions and ensure alignment.
• Work with developers and partners to clarify requirements and remove blockers.
• Identify dependencies, assess risks and support delivery planning.
• Support testing and QA, investigate defects, ensure releases meet requirements.
• Own requirements from initial analysis through delivery.
