Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a senior Systems Engineer to join the Australian Engineering Team in Melbourne, contributing to Hivemind Vision and autonomy technologies. You will define requirements, design architectures, and document models in SysML/UML, collaborating with program leadership and engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.

You will leverage MBSE tools to extend architecture models, maintain traceability, and align system designs with customer requirements, while guiding process

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of systems engineering or related experience with a Bachelor’s; 5 years with Master’s; 2 years with PhD.
• BS in STEM field related to systems engineering or software development.
• Experience writing and verifying requirements.
• Experience with MBSE and system-modeling workflows.
• Experience working on cross-functional technical teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read and apply engineering drawings and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Capture end-to-end system requirements for Hivemind Vision Systems and autonomy solutions.
• Design and evolve system architectures spanning perception and mission workflows.
• Document models using UML/SysML and maintain architecture models.
• Create SysML models focusing on decomposition, flows, interfaces, and behavior.
• Collaborate with SMEs to improve tooling and link models to codebases.
• Evolve systems engineering processes within the Australian organization.
• Engage with product, program, engineering, and business teams cross-functionally.
• Report status, risks, and milestones to leadership.
