Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a systems engineer to contribute to the design and integration of Hivemind Vision and Mission Autonomy solutions within the Australian Engineering team. This role supports the growth of Hivemind Solutions in Australia and delivery for key customer programs and internal R&D initiatives.

Qualifications

• 7+ years systems engineering or related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 5 years with a Master's; or 2 years with a PhD; or equivalent
• B.S. degree in a STEM field (e.g., Systems, Software, Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical)
• Experience with MBSE and system-modeling workflows
• Experience writing, structuring, and verifying requirements
• Experience working on cross-functional technical teams
• Strong communication, written and verbal
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings and schematics
• Demonstrated integrity, teamwork and professionalism

Responsibilities

• Capture end-to-end system requirements for Hivemind Vision Systems and integrated autonomy solutions
• Support design and development of system architectures spanning perception, autonomy, and mission workflows
• Use MBSE tools to document, maintain, and extend architecture models
• Develop and maintain models using UML, SysML, and UPDM
• Create SysML models emphasizing system decomposition, flows, interfaces, and behavior
• Collaborate with SMEs to improve tooling and connections between models and code
• Support evolution and execution of the systems engineering process across the Australian engineering organization
• Engage cross-functionally with product, program management, engineering and business development teams
• Report status, risks, accomplishments and expectations to leadership
