Job summary

Shield AI in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to contribute to the design and integration across the Hivemind Vision and Mission Autonomy stacks. You will support the Australian Engineering group’s capability maturation and delivery for key customer programs and internal R&D initiatives.

Responsibilities include capturing end‑to‑end system requirements, developing architectures spanning perception and autonomy, and documenting models with UML/SysML/UPDM.

Qualifications

• MBSE practices including writing, structuring, and verifying requirements.
• Experience with MBSE and system‑modeling workflows.
• Experience with cross‑functional technical teams.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Capture end‑to‑end system requirements for Hivemind Vision Systems and integrated autonomy solutions.
• Support design and development of system architectures spanning perception, autonomy, and mission‑level workflows.
• Use MBSE tools to document, maintain, and extend architecture models supporting new integrations and customer requirements.
• Develop SysML models with emphasis on decomposition, functional flows, interfaces, and system behavior.
• Collaborate with subject‑matter experts to improve tooling, automation, and connections between system models and codebases.
• Support evolution and execution of the systems engineering process across the Australian engineering organization.
• Engage cross‑functionally with product management, program management, engineering, and business development teams.
• Report status, risks, accomplishments, and expectations to senior engineering and program leadership.
