Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a senior Systems Engineer to join the Australian Engineering group. You will capture end-to-end system requirements for Hivemind Vision and integrated autonomy solutions, and design architectures spanning perception, autonomy, and mission-level workflows.

You will use MBSE tools to document, maintain, and extend architecture models, develop SysML/UML diagrams, and collaborate with SMEs to improve tooling and integration with codebases. Eligible for Australian NV1 clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience with systems engineering practices, including writing, structuring, and verifying requirements.
• Experience with MBSE and system-modeling workflows.
• Expertise with MBSE, including use of Cameo Systems Modeler, Cameo APIs, and VTL.
• Experience working on cross-functional technical teams.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply engineering drawings, assembly diagrams, parts lists, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Capture end-to-end system requirements for Hivemind Vision Systems and integrated autonomy solutions.
• Support design and development of system architectures spanning perception, autonomy, and mission-level workflows.
• Use MBSE tools to document, maintain, and extend architecture models.
• Develop and maintain models using UML, SysML, and/or UPDM.
• Create SysML models focusing on system decomposition, functional flows, interfaces, and behavior.
• Collaborate with SMEs to improve tooling, automation, and connections between system models and codebases.
• Support evolution and execution of the systems engineering process across the Australian engineering organization.
• Engage cross-functionally with product, program, engineering, and business development teams.
• Report status, risks, accomplishments, and expectations to senior leadership.
• Minimum of 7 years of systems engineering experience with a Bachelor’s, or 5 years with a Master’s, or 2 years with a PhD.
