Job summary

SAGE Automation, part of the SAGE Group, is Sydney's leading independent automation and control systems integrator. We are seeking a Control Systems Engineer to join our Sydney team and deliver complex engineering solutions for diverse projects.

Reporting to the Senior Systems Engineer, you will design technical solutions, support project delivery, and ensure tasks stay on time and within budget while collaborating with stakeholders across client representations.

Qualifications

• Electrical Engineering degree required.
• Minimum of 3 years in control systems and automation.
• Knowledge of PLC, SCADA and RTU systems, Siemens PLC software and TIA Portal.
• Strong commissioning and troubleshooting experience.
• Excellent communication with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver technical control systems solutions meeting project scope.
• Support and resolve project issues and changes promptly.
• Control and track tasks to meet budget and schedule.

Reporting to the Senior Systems Engineer, you will apply engineering concepts, practices, and theories to design technical solutions. You will be accountable for successfully and competently delivering complex engineering solutions for our projects.

Skills & Experience

• You must have an appropriate Electrical Engineering degree.
• You will have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in control systems and automation.
• Knowledge of PLC, SCADA and RTU systems – specifically Siemens PLC software and TIA Portal.
• You will have strong practical commissioning and trouble‑shooting experience.
• You should be comfortable communicating with key stakeholders and client representatives.
