Job summary

Queensland Corrective Services – Brisbane QLD is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to lead 2nd/3rd level support for the department's IT infrastructure within a large ICT environment. You will work with a team of technical specialists to implement new initiatives, manage changes, and advise on technology directions.

The role emphasizes understanding client business drivers, maintaining service levels, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to keep the enterprise

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years’ experience in critical IT support and delivery environments.
• Experience implementing, supporting and maintaining enterprise infrastructure in a large network.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for complex IT infra issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively and manage workload under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the second and third level support and maintenance of the departmental IT infrastructure.
• Participate in a team of technical specialists to develop, configure and implement new initiatives and solutions within a large ICT environment.
• Lead and undertake change management activities associated with infrastructure provisioning and maintenance.
• Research and provide advice in the continuous improvement of existing IT infrastructure and evaluation of new technologies.
• Understand client's business drivers and contribute to client relationships by assisting in performance analysis of the QCS infrastructure environments and making recommendations for improvement.
• Provide feedback to clients, the Service Management and Application Management teams regarding the status of problems and service requests to ensure that agreed service levels and client service standards are achieved.
• Liaise effectively with clients, multi-disciplinary technology groups and external stakeholders on enterprise infrastructure matters.
• Maintain knowledge of current trends, industry and technology directions and product road maps for enterprise infrastructure technology.
