Job summary

Isaac Regional Council in Queensland, Australia, seeks a permanent full-time Senior Systems Accountant to join the Corporates Services Directorate based in the Isaac Region. You will manage Council's financial software systems to support high-quality financial advice, planning, budgeting, reporting and business improvement initiatives.

The role focuses on Technology One administration, system development, reporting, data analytics and process improvement.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in accounting, financial management and financial systems administration.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards, legislation and contemporary financial management practices.
• Experience managing and enhancing enterprise financial software systems, preferably Technology One Enterprise Suite.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify opportunities for business improvement and system efficiencies.
• Ability to scope, design and generate reports that support operational, strategic and statutory reporting requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organisation.
• Experience in data analysis and the provision of financial and systems advice to support informed decision-making.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and financial reporting tools.
• Hold a current Driver Licence.
• Tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, Commerce or Accounting, with eligibility for CPA or CA membership, will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Manage Council's financial software systems to support the delivery of high quality financial advice, planning, budgeting, reporting and business improvement initiatives.
• Provide specialist accounting and systems expertise, support system enhancements and integrations, and contribute to the continuous improvement of Council's financial management practices.
• Translate complex financial and system information into meaningful reports for decision-making and performance monitoring.
• Collaborate across the organisation to drive process improvements and data driven insights.
