Job summary

Isaac Regional Council is seeking a Senior Systems Accountant to manage our financial software and deliver high‑quality financial advice, planning, budgeting and reporting across the Isaac Region.

The role focuses on Technology One administration, system development, reporting, data analytics and process improvement, with opportunities to drive business improvements and provide system‑level insights for decision‑making.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in accounting, financial management and financial systems administration.
• Strong understanding of accounting standards, legislation and contemporary financial management practices.
• Experience managing and enhancing enterprise financial software systems, preferably Technology One.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with ability to identify improvement opportunities.
• Ability to scope, design and generate reports supporting operational, strategic and statutory needs.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for cross‑organisational collaboration.
• Proficiency in data analysis and providing financial/system advice for decisions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial reporting tools.
• Holder of a current Driver Licence.
• Tertiary qualifications in Business/Finance/Commerce/Accounting with CPA/CA eligibility considered highly.

Responsibilities

• Manage Council’s financial software systems to support high‑quality financial advice, planning, budgeting and reporting.
• Focus on Technology One administration, system development, reporting and data analytics.
• Provide specialist accounting and systems expertise and support system enhancements and integrations.
• Drive continuous improvement of financial management practices across the organisation.
• Translate complex financial and system information into meaningful reports and business outcomes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across levels of the organisation.
