Job summary

P8IO Pty. Ltd invites an experienced Senior Systems Analyst to join our technology delivery team, supporting a major banking client's enterprise and cloud transformation programs.

You will translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure system solutions, spanning requirements, design, and delivery assurance across microservices and event-driven architecture.

Qualifications

• 15+ years’ experience in systems analysis, design and delivery in enterprise environments, ideally banking/financial services.
• Strong hands-on background in Java, Spring Boot, microservices and event-driven architecture.
• Proven experience authoring technical design documentation and functional specifications for complex programs.
• End-to-end ownership from requirements through design, testing and production cutover.
• Experience with Agile delivery, JIRA/Confluence, and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong mentoring and team leadership capabilities.
• Cloud certification (e.g. Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect) highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Formulate, document, and validate business and system requirements with stakeholders.
• Analyse existing processes and workflows to identify inefficiencies and improvements.
• Recommend optimal system functionality and integration approaches for evolving needs.
• Create architecture diagrams, sequence diagrams, and functional specs to guide development.
• Develop functional and API specs for use by developers with traceability across streams.
• Estimate effort, plan sprints, and manage risks across multiple workstreams.
• Deploy end-to-end solutions and create/test plans to ensure production readiness.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Solution Architects and QA to close gaps and de-risk delivery.
• Review code and designs to ensure engineering standards and performance goals.
• Act as a reference point for decisions and escalations within the team.
• Mentor juniors on best practices and clean delivery approaches.
• Leverage AI-assisted tools to improve code quality and velocity.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Systems Analyst to join our technology delivery team at P8IO Pty. Ltd, supporting a major banking client's enterprise and cloud transformation programs.

About the Role

You’ll work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, architects, and engineering teams to translate complex business requirements into scalable, compliant, and secure system solutions. This is a hands-on analyst role spanning requirements gathering, solution design, and delivery assurance across microservices and event-driven architecture.

What You’ll Do

• Work with business users and stakeholders to formulate, document, and validate business and system requirements
• Identify, investigate, and analyse existing business processes, procedures, and system workflows to uncover inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
• Recommend optimal system functionality, integration approaches, and technical solutions to meet evolving business needs
• Author comprehensive technical design documentation - including architecture diagrams, sequence diagrams, and functional specifications - to guide development teams
• Develop functional specifications and API specifications for use by developers, ensuring consistency and traceability across delivery streams
• Apply project and delivery methodologies to estimate effort, plan sprints, and manage risks across concurrent workstreams
• Take ownership of deploying functional solutions end-to-end, including creating and executing system test plans and technical verification documents to ensure production readiness
• Partner with Product Owners, Solution Architects, and QA Engineers to validate designs, close integration gaps, and de-risk delivery
• Conduct code and design reviews to ensure solutions meet engineering standards, performance benchmarks, and maintainability goals
• Act as a central point of reference for the team, providing guidance during project decision-making and technical escalations
• Mentor junior team members on best practices, design patterns, and clean delivery approaches
• Leverage modern AI-assisted development tools to improve code quality and delivery velocity

What You Bring

• 15+ years’ experience in systems analysis, design, and delivery within enterprise environments, ideally banking or financial services
• Strong hands-on background in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and event-driven architecture (Kafka, Solace, IBM MQ, Apache Camel)
• Proven experience authoring technical design documentation and functional specifications for complex, multi-team delivery programs
• Track record of end-to-end ownership - from requirements through design, testing, and production cutover
• Experience with Agile delivery, JIRA/Confluence, and cross-functional stakeholder collaboration
• Strong mentoring and team leadership capability
• Cloud certification (e.g. "Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect") highly regarded
