Job summary

SRK Australia is seeking a Surface Water Scientist/Engineer to join our Perth team, delivering expert water management solutions in the field and office. The role emphasizes growth, leadership, and mentoring within a diverse consulting environment.

The successful candidate will work across multiple mining projects, applying hydrological and hydraulic modelling, site-based investigations and rigorous reporting, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients globally.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Hydrology, Environmental Engineering or Engineering Geology (master's/PhD preferred).
3+ years in mining, exploration or mining consulting industries.
Excellent communication and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
Fluent English and ability to contribute to high-quality technical reports.

Responsibilities

Provide technical input for water management studies from scoping to feasibility (FS), including detailed design.
Develop hydrological/hydraulic models for flood risk assessments and flood mapping.
Create probabilistic water balance models for mining operations.
Develop surface water management plans in line with legislation and best practices.
Design surface water monitoring systems, identify locations, verify sites and install equipment.
Lead project scoping, budgeting, planning and staff coordination.
