Job summary

The University of Sydney is inviting applications for a Senior Housing Officer, Student Accommodation to oversee Camden Student Accommodation operations, including Nepean Hall, Nepean Lodge and Nepean Cottages, with oversight of Kingswood complex and affiliated sites. This full-time role reports to the General Manager, Accommodation Operations and ensures service excellence and asset upkeep.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
• First Aid Certificate.
• Strong financial and operational management skills, including budgeting, reporting and occupancy forecasting.
• Experience in site leadership and coordination, ideally within student accommodation, facilities or hospitality environments.
• Broad understanding of real estate principles and compliance with the Residential Tenancy Act.
• Extensive project management experience including contractor management and compliance requirements.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to foster productive working relationships.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of Camden Student Accommodation and support oversight of Kingswood and other sites.
• Monitor occupancy, reservations, revenue performance and operational outcomes to maximise utilisation and service delivery.
• Coordinate applications, bookings, peak periods and emergency accommodation while ensuring high customer service and student support.
• Manage maintenance, refurbishment and asset lifecycle activities, including contractor coordination, to meet University standards.
• Support financial administration, including revenue reconciliation, journal processing, forecasting, budget preparation and reporting.
• Supervise and support site-based staff and collaborate with accommodation providers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Support compliance with legislation, policies, residential agreements and procedures while promoting resident safety and well-being.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives through reviews of operations, systems and feedback processes.
