Job summary

The University of Sydney is seeking a Senior Housing Officer, Student Accommodation to oversee the Camden Student Accommodation portfolio, including Nepean Hall, Nepean Lodge and Nepean Cottages, with oversight of Kingswood complex and other University-managed sites. The role reports to the General Manager, Accommodation Operations and collaborates with stakeholders to ensure high service standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• First Aid Certificate required.
• Strong budgeting, reporting and occupancy forecasting experience.
• Broad understanding of real estate principles and tenancy regulations.
• Extensive project management including contractor management and compliance.
• Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of Camden Student Accommodation and provide oversight of Kingswood and other sites.
• Monitor occupancy, reservations, revenue performance and operational outcomes to maximize utilization and service delivery.
• Coordinate applications, bookings, peak periods and emergency accommodation.
• Manage maintenance, refurbishment and asset lifecycle activities, including contractor coordination.
• Support financial administration: revenue reconciliation, journal processing, forecasting, budgeting and reporting.
• Supervise and support site-based staff and coordinate with providers, contractors and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, policies and procedures while promoting resident safety and wellbeing.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of accommodation operations, systems and maintenance programs.
