Job summary

Primero in Australia seeks a Principal Structural Engineer to lead the structural engineering and design efforts across mining, minerals and heavy industrial projects. You will deliver robust, constructible solutions and drive technical excellence in collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams.

The role is based at our Perth head office, offering a path for leadership within an expanding business and exposure to large-scale national and international projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Civil Engineering (IE Aust recognised) required.
• 15+ years’ structural engineering and project delivery experience in mining/minerals, heavy industrial.
• Proven leadership of engineering and design teams on projects.
• Experience with Space Gass and Strand7 is essential.
• Strong communication and collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Site experience during construction is advantageous.
• Commitment to professional development.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage structural engineering and design teams across projects.
• Deliver structural design solutions for mining, resource, and energy sectors.
• Provide technical guidance and robust, constructable solutions.
• Ensure compliance with standards and project requirements.
• Review and approve structural calculations, reports, and drawings.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and resource allocations.
• Mentor engineers and promote technical excellence.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve integrated outcomes.
• Engage with clients and vendors to resolve technical issues.
• Assist with studies and tenders.
