Job summary

WSP’s Building Structures group in Australia is seeking a senior structural engineer to lead multi-year, turnkey projects across high-rise and infrastructure sectors. You will guide design, delivery and tender phases, ensuring delivery quality and client satisfaction.

With CPENG qualification and 8–12 years’ experience, you will manage scope, budgets and schedules while mentoring junior engineers and developing client relationships across a national team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor to Masters’ level degree (Civil/Structural Engineering).
• CPENG qualified or close to completion.
• 8–12 years post graduate industry experience.
• Commercial experience in Australia or New Zealand on medium/large building structure engineering projects.
• Exposure to local building sectors: transport, metro, health, data centres, retail, defence.
• Familiar with ETABS, RAM Concept and Microstran.
• Solid consultancy experience in a client facing role with ability to lead projects and manage clients.
• Experience coaching & mentoring junior engineers across technical and project delivery aspects.
• Transport experience would be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead project design, delivery and tender phases for multi-year packages of turnkey work.
• Ensure timely, high-quality delivery in line with technical, commercial and regulatory standards.
• Manage project scope, programme, budgets and quality outcomes.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and identify new opportunities.
• Maintain effective communication with local clients and stakeholders.
• Foster internal and external stakeholder collaboration across the national team.
• Provide sound technical and delivery guidance to the team.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers’ capabilities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to deliver multidisciplinary engineering solutions.
