Job summary

WSP Building Structures in Sydney seeks an experienced structural engineer to lead design, delivery, and tender phases for multi-year projects. You will ensure timely, high-quality structural deliverables and manage scope, programmes, and budgets while developing strong client relationships.

Ideally you bring 8–12 years of post-graduate experience, local building sector exposure, and a proven record in leading projects and mentoring junior engineers within a national, collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor to Masters’ level degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• RPEQ qualified or close to completion.
• 8–12 years post graduate industry experience.
• Commercial experience in Australia or NZ on medium/large building projects.
• Exposure across local building sectors: transport, metro, health, data centres, retail, defence.
• Strong client-facing consultancy experience and ability to lead projects.

Responsibilities

• Project lead work across design, delivery and tender phases for multi-year packages.
• Ensure timely and quality of delivery for project and structural engineering work.
• Manage project scope, programme, budgets and quality outcomes.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships and identify new opportunities.
• Handle ongoing communication and professional relationships with local clients.
• Provide sound technical delivery guidance for the team.
• Mentor, train and develop the careers of junior engineers.
• Partner with internal stakeholders in a national multidisciplinary engineering setting.
