Job summary

AECOM is seeking a motivated and technically strong Senior Structural Engineer to join our Buildings + Places Structures team in Sydney. You will contribute to the design and delivery of a diverse portfolio across aviation, sport, culture, education, healthcare and transport infrastructure.

Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment, you will lead design teams, mentor junior engineers, ensure compliance with Australian Standards and NCC, and manage project deliverables,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Ideally, 5+ years’ experience in structural engineering with a focus on building structures.
• Experience delivering structural design projects in a consulting environment.
• Proficiency in structural analysis/design software including SpaceGass, ETABS, RAPT and Structural Toolkit.
• Experience with SAP2000, RAM, IdeaStatiCa, and Grasshopper is a plus.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the structural design and delivery of projects across market sectors.
• Prepare and review structural analysis, calculations, design reports, specifications and engineering documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with Australian Standards, NCC/BCA and client requirements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to develop practical, efficient, and sustainable design outcomes.
• Manage project deliverables, timelines, budgets and stakeholder relationships.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to a culture of learning and innovation.
